I would like to know who the members of the ‘Astrolabe” Community Trust is – names of individuals? “The consent was lodged by the Astrolabe Community Trust” – as claimed in the ‘Sun’ media article.
….also, Your article states that the OWNERS of the Rena have lodged a Resource Consent application. “The Rena’s owner has lodged resource consent applications”
Have you in fact received two Resource applications – if not, then which of these two parties has in fact lodged the application?
Thank you
Jocelyn Winwood
Parties who submitted on the application can be supported in their submissions by other parties. The supporting parties can present information/ evidence as part of the submitter’s submission in the resource consent hearing process. This website has a list of all the parties who lodged a submission on the application as well as their contact details here https://www.renaresourceconsent.org.nz/submitted/. You can review the list and approach a party who has a submission in the theme of your position on the application.
I am concerned that Opus Consultants who have been assigned to undertake an assessment of cultural issues associated with the consents have not made contact with us (Ngai Te Hapu) at all. How can this be? An assessment of the cultural issues is not just a paper or desk top exercise. Do it properly.
Opus was engaged by the Regional Council in its function as the Consent authority to review the aspects of the application related to cultural matters. They have not been engaged to undertake independent cultural assessment.
I put in an online submission to the Rewna Appliaction on August 6th, on checking the list of received submissions, mine does not appear to be listed. I am concerned, can you please contact me and advise why my submission appears to have been lost.
Many thanks

As part of the resource consent process was there an AEE conducted by the party representing The Astrolabe Community Trust? Is this available publically to view?
Yes the AEE has been co-ordinated by the owner’s representatives and is on this website. Have a look at look at the latest evidence provided for the hearing, as it is the same information but more up to date. You can find those here.

The Astrolabe Community Trust represents the Owners of the Rena, however we do not know who the Trustees are.
How do we join the process as a neutral affected party? Is a Section 274 a possible option at the moment? Thanks, Bob
